Hezbollah Gaining Strength in Latin America

“The Iranian-backed terrorist organization Hezbollah is expanding its influence in Latin America with the aid of Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela, according to testimony before the Committee on Homeland Security.

At a July 7 committee meeting, Roger Noriega — former American ambassador to the Organization of American States — said Hezbollah has been establishing alliances with Mexican and other drug cartels.

Noriega told the committee that the Venezuelan government is encouraging Hezbollah activities in several Latin American nations. A key operative in the Hezbollah network, he pointed out, is the second highest ranked diplomat in the Venezuelan embassy in Syria, Ghazi Nassereddine.

Also appearing before the committee was Douglas Farah, senior fellow at the International Assessment and Strategy Center. He said Hezbollah is helping to build tunnels used by drug smugglers along the U.S.-Mexican border.

These tunnels could be used to smuggle terrorists and weapons of mass destruction into the United States, he warned.

Ilan Berman, vice president of the American Foreign Policy Council, told the committee that Hezbollah has established terrorist training camps in Venezuela and is setting up a camp in Mexico to illegally infiltrate operatives into the U.S.

According to Berman, Hezbollah already has a presence in 15 American cities.”

Herman Cain says Tennessee mosque would spread extremism

MURFREESBORO — Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain opposes a planned Tennessee mosque that has been the subject of protests and legal challenges.

Cain told reporters Thursday after a campaign rally on the Murfreesboro courthouse square that he doesn’t consider the facility an “innocent mosque.”

According to Cain, the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro would represent “another way to gradually sneak Shariah law into our laws.”

Islamist Violence in northeast Nigeria sparks fears

“Suspected members of a hardline Muslim sect have killed three people in a van blast near a military checkpoint in northeast Nigeria, an official said.

An explosive went off under the van late on Monday as its driver slowed down at a military and police checkpoint in the city of Maiduguri, Major General Jack Nwachukwu Nwaogbo, the commander of the Joint Military Taskforce, said on Tuesday.

Authorities blamed the attack, which killed the driver and two passengers, on Boko Haram, which seeks a wider application of Islamic law across Africa’s most populous nation.

Radical Group Seeks Islamic World Order

By Steve Emerson

“A radical Islamist group which claims a presence in nearly 50 countries is so confident it can help establish a global Muslim government — or caliphate — that it distributed a draft constitution during a recent conference outside of Chicago.

It calls for the death penalty for apostates and for creating a government department dedicated to jihad.

The latest Hizb ut-Tahrir (HT) gathering drew more than 300 people to a DoubleTree Hotel ballroom on June 26.”

Radicals Targeting US Military Installations

By Steve Emerson

“Newly unsealed court documents reveal new details about a plot to attack a military recruiting center in Seattle. Items seized by federal investigators from the home of accused lead conspirator Abu Khalid Abdul-Latif include plans to attack a U.S. military facility and motivational materials related to alleged atrocities committed by American soldiers overseas.

The attack on the Seattle military installation is yet another example of a terrorist plot in which American military personnel in the United States have been targeted by Islamist radicals opposed to U.S. military operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere. In each case, the perceived oppression of Muslims by U.S. forces overseas and the belief that Islam is under attack from the West has been the primary motivation behind the plots.”

Guardian gives further platform to Hamas leaders

“The Guardian gives platform to another Hamas leader, in print, to celebrate reconciliation deal and demand that ‘every’ Palestinian refugee be granted right of return.

Today The Guardian’s ‘Comment is free’ section features a comment article by Musa Abumarzuq, deputy head of Hamas’ political bureau. ‘Welcome Hamas’s conciliation with Fatah’, which also appeared in print today, places the entirety of the blame for the stalled peace process on the Israelis, denounces Obama’s criticism of the Palestinian reconciliation agreement and calls on Europe to support the deal.”

The Taliban Will Rule Afghanistan

By Walid Phares

“The administration’s plan for Afghanistan may include reconciliation with the Taliban, but the latter have no plans that allow American gains, much less bilateral-negotiations to end the conflict.

It appears that the administration is tangoing with an imaginary partner. Neville Chamberlain’s wishful Sept. 30, 1938 proclamation, “I have returned to Germany with peace in our time,” should serve as a chilling reminder to those who are under the illusion that war is receding which in fact, it is about to escalate into global conflict.

The Taliban strategy is not obscure; most of it has been announced, publicized and is based in ideology, as has been the case with totalitarian movements throughout history. U.S. inability to grasp Taliban plans is not due to the jihadists’ highly-developed denial and deception skills, but rather to the unwillingness or inability of the U.S. and its allies to see it.

The Taliban long-term strategic plan is simple: practice taqiyya to gain terrain and power; resume jihad to eliminate the other forms of governance; and implement their version of Shariah to reverse democracy.”

CAIR stonewalls after IRS revokes status

Muslim group won’t disclose information as required by law

In the wake of loss of its tax-exempt status, the Council on American-Islamic Relations is refusing to comply with IRS rules requiring public disclosure of its annual tax disclosure forms.

Two news agencies that asked for the forms were brushed off.

The IRS states a tax-exempt organization must make available “for public inspection and copying” its exemption application and its annual return, including Form 990.

The IRS revocation of CAIR’s non-profit status prompted Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., to ask the IRS to investigate whether CAIR has “illegally received or solicited funds from foreign governments or agents.”

Wolf said in a letter to IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman that he wants to resolve the question of whether foreign and potentially hostile governments have funded CAIR.

The move by the IRS followed an expose published by WND Books that revealed the violations by CAIR, triggering a federal investigation and audit.

CAIR, which was named an unindicted co-conspirator in a major terror-funding case, has filed a lawsuit to stop dissemination of internal papers that document its ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and international jihad.

Many of the papers were cited in “Muslim Mafia”.

The book recounts how FBI wiretap evidence from the terror-finance case showed CAIR Executive Director Awad was at an October 1993 meeting of Hamas leaders and activists in Philadelphia that gave birth to CAIR as an organization designed to give a “media twinkle” to the Muslim leaders’ agenda of supporting violent jihad abroad while slowly institutionalizing Islamic law at home.

Ex-Jihadist speaks out about the status of women in Islam

He was trained to be a Jihadist, but Kamal Saleem now has renounced terrorism, adopted a home in America, and has spoken against terror and radical Islam at universities across the nation.

“Women in our (Islamic) culture are nothing. They are equal to the goat or the rug. Her purpose is to be married to her husband to give him pleasure. When a husband marries a wife, he purchases her sexual organs,” Saleem said.
